Al-Dossari noted that such a trend reflected RTA attention to expand public bus fleet and promote ridership in an effort to ease congestion and smooth traffic flow in the emirate; a matter which will ultimately reduce traffic accidents and environmental pollution.
He said:
"Buses operating on C10 route start off Hamriya Port and pass through Al-Khaleej Rd, Abu Hail Rd, Al-Ittihad Rd, Al Maktoum Bridge, Al-Seef Rd, Sheikh Rashid Rd, Al-Mankhool Rd, Al-Diyafa Rd up to Jumeirah Beach Park. Buses run at 10 minutes interval on normal days and 20 minutes interval on Fridays and holidays. Buses operating on X28 route set off from Muhaisnah 4 and pass over Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport, Trade Center Interchange, Sheikh Zayed Rd up to Jebel Ali Bus Station. The service is run at 10 minutes interval on normal days and 15 minutes interval on Fridays and holidays."
"In addition to the standard buses, new articulated buses will be deployed to accommodate larger numbers of passengers. These buses have low floors to ensure higher safety and ease the mobility of special need persons. They are fitted with tinted glass; which deflects the effects of the blazing sun temperature on passengers," Al-Dossari added.
"Work team of Planning & Business Dep't and Buses Dep't at Public Transport Agency have designed and printed circulars and leaflets to be distributed in various localities in Dubai such as Public Bus Stations to enable passengers, visitors and tourists read and make use of them in identifying their destinations" said Al-Dossari.
