H.E. Eng Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, received H.E. Ibrahim Bu Melha, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) during his visit to present a souvenir trophy and a certificate of appreciation in recognition of Dubai Chamber's efforts in making the award a big success over the last 11 years.

Buamim pointed out that Dubai Chamber's support to DIHQA stems from its keenness to strengthen its services and responsibilities towards the community and also because the Award highlights the role of the UAE in encouraging the younger generation in learning and preserving the Holy Quran in their hearts.

"Dubai Chamber is grateful to DIHQA for bestowing it with this honour and it's not that we alone supported the Award for the past 11 years but the Award too has given us a good image as it helped spread the name of Dubai Chamber through the participants who came from different parts of the world,"

said Buamim.

Buamin added, "Our support to DIHQA doesn't stop here as we will continue to assist this important initiative in the future as well."

H.E. Ibrahim Bu Melha, while commending the efforts of Dubai Chamber in supporting the Award informed that now there are more than 135 national memorizers of the Holy Quran in the country.

He also praised the efforts of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who is the founder of the award, in making it a top-most international event.

Bu Melha also extended an invitation to Dubai Chamber to attend the honouring ceremony being organized on the sidelines of the official opening of the 12th session of the Awards on the eighth day of Ramadan at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai. Memorizers of the Holy Quran from 85 Muslim countries will compete this time with contestants from Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Botswana and Zanzibar participating for the first time.
