Most of the efforts are currently concentrating on Al Ain City, with a special focus on its historic buildings.
"At the forefront of these projects is the restoration of Al Jahili Castle, which is situated near Al Jahili Garden near the Al Ain Oasis in the City centre,"
said Dr. Sami Al Masri, Director of Strategic Planning Office at ADACH.
The Castle, which is generally in good shape, will undergo restoration projects on all of its historic layers, before hosting an information centre and a permanent exhibition on the famous traveler Mubarak bin London (Wilfred Thesiger). The project is expected to be ready before the end of 2008.
Among other major projects is the restoration of House of Hamad bin Hadi Al Daramaki in Hilli Oasis, which seeks to provide support for the building without changing its historic appearance. This project is supervised by the specialist Ali Malick Abbasi.
ADACH has recently embarked on intensive programmes for restoring and protecting a group of historic buildings that require urgent intervention.
The programmes aim to ensure the safety of these buildings to spare them further deterioration, using advanced methodologies when fencing, cleaning and supporting their structures.
