IBQ's Iftar tent a success during the 'month of charity'

IBQ today announced the success of the first few days of its 'Do Good Deeds in the Month of Charity', a campaign which was launched to mark the Holy Month of Ramadan and a testament to the Bank's commitment to corporate social responsibility.

IBQ is hosting daily Iftar meals in its "Al Yusr" tent in accordance with the Holy Spirit of Ramadan. The tent, conveniently located on C ring road, has witnessed hundreds of people on a daily basis who have arrived there to break and share their fast during the first few days of Ramadan.

A large team of IBQ staff volunteers have been present at the tent on a daily basis to ensure that all the preparations for Iftar are completed on time, as well as being responsible for the daily managing and provision of meals throughout the Holy Month. The tent has been organized in collaboration with the Sheikh Eid Charitable Association.

Muhannad Kamal, Deputy General Manager at IBQ said, "We are pleased with the success of Al Yusr tent. The presence of our staff volunteers on a daily basis to distribute food to fasting people is a reaffirmation of our corporate social responsibility. We embrace the values of solidarity and sharing in our work environment and spare no effort in helping all segments of the society. The large number of fasting Muslims that break their daily fast at the tent is great evidence of the benevolent role the bank plays in this holy month.

Other initiatives planned under "Do Good Deeds in the Month of Charity" campaign include hospital visits, providing Eid clothes to children and organising a celebration of the Garangaou night. IBQ will also assist the Social Development Centre in their fund raising campaign "Adwamah Wa in Qall'' to help disadvantaged families by placing special donation boxes in all their branches.

Kamal continued to say, "The aim of our campaign 'Do Good Deeds in the Month of Charity' is to support the values of social solidarity and giving during the Holy Month of Ramadan. In addition to providing meals to fasting Muslims, we have a series of initiatives planned during this month of sharing and giving to help those who are less fortunate."

IBQ, the award winning bank for customer services, continues to show its dedication and support for the community at large by sponsoring various social, educational and sport activities in Qatar.
