UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan has ordered an Abu Dhabi Television station to stop broadcasting a soap opera in response to appeals by several Arab tribes, reported official news agency WAM. The drama, entitled 'Sadoun Al-Awaji', tells the story of Sheikh Sadoun Al-Awaji who was born in the north of Arabian Peninsula in 1750. It was filmed in the Syrian city of Tadmur, near the ancient ruins of Palmyra, a location which resembles the areas in which the Anza, the tribe of Al-Awaj, lived.
