The highlight of The Diplomatic Club's Ramadan offerings, the Royal Tent, will display a combination of Ramadan décor, including tiny lanterns, stars and lunar cycle motifs, blended with elements of a lush oasis, such as grass, abundant greenery and palm trees. Dina Khlat, acting General Manager for The Diplomatic Club, said of the Royal Tent's design,
"This celebration tent is unlike anything that has been done in Doha before. This is absolutely something new. We wanted to create the illusion of sitting outside and relaxing on a luxuriant, green lawn. The design has even seen the tent's poles disguised to look like palm trees and we even had sand brought in to complete the oasis environment. Every aspect of our décor has some significant tie to Ramadan."
The Royal Tent also features a raised, private majlis over which lanterns are suspended. Arabic artifacts and ornaments adorn the green, red and gold tent and, as a finishing touch, the chandeliers are fashioned to represent the lunar cycle during Ramadan. Arabic musical entertainment will perform for the duration of the evening after a 10:30 pm introduction. To enhance the mood and spirit, wait staff have even been especially uniformed for the occasion.
The Diplomatic Club's culinary offerings have been fine-tuned to correspond to the theme of Ramadan. With menus designed by The Club's resident, renowned chefs, Iftar culinary offerings will include a daily sumptuous buffet of hot and cold mezza and succulent main courses and desserts at Al-Safeer. An Arabic pastry chef has been especially appointed to create exceptional celebration desserts. Guests can also dine on Arabian dishes and an a la carte Sohour menu at Al-Safeer, the Club's exquisite ballroom.
Private Iftar and Sohour celebrations can be accommodated in one of The Club's ballrooms and can comfortably seat up to 350 people. Off-site Iftar and/or Sohour catering is available for parties of 50+.
Hassan Houmani, Assistant Sales and Marketing Manager, says of the Royal Tent,
"Ramadan is a time when friends and family come together and the Royal Tent is the perfect meeting place. Our design team has created and built a distinctive atmosphere where beautiful, traditional design elements and an elegant, calming, oasis ambiance combine with the tradition of Arabian hospitality. We have built this Royal Tent to be the preeminent Ramadan destination in Doha."
The Diplomatic Club's Iftar and Sohour offerings are available daily and through the duration of Ramadan. The Royal Tent is generously underwritten by Commercialbank, Jaidah Group, Chevrolet, Qatar media, Modern Home, Al-Sharq, Qatar Airways and Ebrahim Al Neama & Sons Group.
