Dubai Customs receives Korean student delegation

This comes as part of CTI overseas visits that aiming at viewing customs administration best practices and closely be aware of Dubai's experiment, which made it a leading trade and economic hub worldwide.

During the visit, the delegation viewed the business process being adopted by Dubai Customs especially its reliance upon the strategic planning, determining implementation requirements and mechanisms that based on specific schedules and identifying the divisional and departmental role in achieving the organizational strategic objectives.

While receiving the Korean delegation, Mr. Abbas Makki, Director of International Relations at Dubai Customs delivered a speech outlining Dubai's objectives to achieve sustainable and balanced development and ensuring welfare to its people from one hand and enhancing the country's image regionally and globally on the other hand.

Mr. Makki underlined in his speech the goals and objectives upon which customs core business is based i.e. provide best customer service, facilitate international trade and strengthen customs control.

"Dubai Customs mission is to provide an attractive investment environment encouraging industries and developing international and transit trade through adopting advanced administrative and technological policies and practices for achieving customer service excellence while committing to serve the local community and preserve the environment,"

he said.

Mr. Makki spoke about the utmost attention given by Dubai Customs to the information technology and e-services that contributing to the development of the organizational activity and minimizing customers' time and effort indicating that thee-services being delivered accounted for 100% at begging of this year.

In this context, the e-clearance system (Mirsal 2) has been discussed being the latest application of the new generation of e-clearance that contributes to transactional facilitation, integration of procedures, quality customers' services and creating paperless business environment.

Also, he addressed the rules being adopted by Customs in relation to risk management through an integrated strategy for crisis and disasters management.

After touring a number of customs departments and sections to closely viewing the nature of business therein, the visit was concluded by exchange of memorial shields between the visiting delegation and Dubai Customs.
