Shell, Iraq to sign $4bn deal

Royal Dutch Shell is expected to sign a $4bn deal with the Iraqi government next month to capture and use natural gas in the area of Basra, reported the UK's financial Times. The deal, will be run as a joint venture with Shell taking 49% and the oil ministry 51%, would be the first between a first Western oil company and the Iraqi government since the 2003 US-led invasion.
