RBS rebrands ABN Amro
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, September 10 - 2008 at 10:20
Royal Bank of Scotland has announced the rebranding of all the ABN Amro branches in the UAE, following the acquisition of the Dutch banking group by a consortium led by RBS in October 2007. The rebranding, which gives RBS control of the 35-year old ABN Amro franchise in the UAE, is the start of a new drive to expand the British bank's presence in the Middle East. Colin Macdonald, head of the Middle East for RBS, told Reuters that he expects the bank's revenue revenue in the Gulf to double in two years.
