Held at the smelter site in Jebel Ali and conducted by the Health Authority Department of Dubai, the initiative drew an excellent response from Dubal's employees: a large number of generous-hearted individuals gladly gave blood.

"Since the company's inception in 1979, Dubal has placed the highest priority on ensuring the health and safety of its own employees and members of the community,"

says Mohammed Yahya, Manager of Corporate Relations and International Affairs.

He adds, "We admire the blood bank services offered by Dubai's health authority and are committed, as a company, to supporting these endeavours. So much so that we have hosted a blood donation drive at least three times a year since 2001. It is gratifying that so many employees also recognize the importance of blood donation and participate voluntarily in the campaign: it demonstrates a true sense of caring for ones fellow citizens."

The blood donated at Dubal was destined for the Al Wasl Hospital Blood Donation Centre, from which it may be drawn by other hospitals to treat patients who require blood during surgical procedures or as part of their medical treatment.
