Under the terms of the agreement Mannai Auto will make available 340 assorted vehicles to GSCS, of which most are GMC 4x4 vehicles known for their off road prowess and legendary reliability.
Mannai Automotive is the sole importer of such prestigious automotive brands as Cadillac, Hummer, GMC, Opel and Subaru in Qatar.
The recent victory is a proud feather in the cap for the Fleet & Leasing Department, which has seen strong growth in recent years. The successful bid has already helped the department double its growth as compared to its performance in 2007.
"Now that we've won the bid, all we're focusing on is delivering on our promises to GSCS,"
said Fadi El-Kik, Business Development Manager.
"We're doing whatever it takes to deliver all the vehicles on time and in perfect condition, and once the fleet has been delivered, our priority will be first class after sales servicing for GSCS," he added.
Speaking on the success of his division, he said, "Sure, we're all thrilled to have won this large contract. Everyone here in the department did a great job and I'm proud of the team."
A variety of factors played a role in the contract being awarded to Mannai Auto, as El-Kik revealed.
"Mannai of course holds the franchise to some world-renowned SUV brands, which was really important since most of the fleet was to be 4X4 vehicles," he explained.
"Apart from that, the team demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and I suppose Mannai Auto's excellent reputation in the market for quick & efficient after sales service tipped the scales in our favor," he added.
With this contract under its belt, the Fleet & Leasing Department has even bigger plans for the future.
"The scale of this tender, many similar tenders won during 2008 and our success show that there is a large market out there to be serviced by the department, and that we have the products and facilities to service that market as well as or better than anyone else in Qatar," said El-Kik.
"If anything, our victory is only going to spur us on to aim even higher and go about achieving it," he said.
