"While Ramadan is a time for intense spiritual renewal, Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan and is celebrated during the first three days of the month of Shawwal, is a time for receptions, gifts and get-togethers,"
said Mr Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General of Expo Centre Sharjah, ahead of the fair.
This represents a unique shopping opportunity as well as an avenue to increase sales. "While consumers are looking for bargains, variety, new products and family entertainment avenues, traders see this as an opportunity to drive up sales," Mr Midfa said.
This year there will be over 200 exhibitors from Syria, Singapore, Egypt, India, Pakistan, GCC states, and from several other countries from the world and will showcase a wide range of household goods such as furniture and décor, jewellery and watches, perfumes, cosmetics, fashion garments, footwear, gift items, electronic appliances, food and beverages, stationery and other related services.
The fair targets Eid shoppers from the UAE and neighbouring Gulf countries. "The event provides a good opportunity for participating companies to promote their goods and services during Ramadan and Eid holidays, which is considered the peak buying season," said Mr Midfa.
"For visitors, the fair will provide an entertaining and amazing shopping experience as there will be lots of special bargains & deals, new products and entertainment avenues," said Mr Midfa.
This year there will be several value-additions in the form of a Heritage Village . "We believe in constantly adding value to all our shows and in this regard have decided to introduce a Heritage Village," said Mr Midfa.
