The Chamber is particularly focusing on realizing the development directives issued by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohamed Al-Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Ruler of Sharjah.

SCCI also lauded the support and supervision provided by H.H. Sheikh Al-Qassimi to both the Chamber and local governments to enhance the quality and variety of city services and activities. The Chamber is currently overseeing the Sharjah Ramadan Festival (SRF) to further its organizational objectives and the participation of Sharjah in domestic economic development.

Hussain Mohammed Al Mahmoudi, SCCI Director General and Member of the Higher Organizing Committee of Sharjah Ramadan Festival, said: "We have allocated part of this year's Festival budget to enhance the participation of cities from the central and eastern regions and create several special programs that suit the potential and the character of these cities. This meets the vision of the High Organizing Committee, which is chaired by H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority Chairman."

"The committee has also allocated special prizes for marketing and commercial campaigns in these cities. Participating companies and organizations will enjoy various benefits and have access to facilities that will enable them to provide services, products and goods at bargain prices to shoppers, as well as offer attractive discounts subject to restrictions and limitations as set by the event organisers," added Al Mahmoudi.

Al Mahmoudi revealed that the SRF Marketing and Event Committees have been instructed to monitor marketing event venues in the cities and submit reports on a daily basis as part of an aggressive advertising campaign that will promote the Festival to all media channels. The Committees have also been advised to attract shoppers by organizing entertainment, cultural, heritage and sports events that reflect the unique spirit of each region and their significance in Sharjah's tourism and promotional activities.

He added that Chamber branches in Al Diad, Kalba, Khorfakan and Dibba Al Hosn will be given priority as participants to the major marketing campaign for the Festival. He explained that the Chamber wants these members to be sufficiently promoted, while at the same time abiding by the rules and regulations covering the facilities granted to them. The SCCI official added that these would not affect the eligibility of participating companies and organisations in conducting seasonal sales in Sharjah at different periods of the year.

For events taking place in the central and eastern regions, Khalil Mohammed Al Mansouri, SCCI Branch Director in Khorfakan and the Festival's Committee Head in the Eastern Region, mentioned that each city will have its own special and diverse marketing events. Businesses and organizations will set up pavilions to exhibit various consumer, basic and service products, as well as industrial products such as carpets, furniture, tools and electronics. They will also designate areas to serve visitors and offer them Arabic and Asian food.

Al Mansouri added that there will be several recreational events such as an entertainment and games corner as well as areas to conduct workshops and religious, educational and artistic seminars on security, safety, preventive medicine, and other interests.

There will also be social activities and events highlighting the programs of the Sharjah Business Women Council and social welfare institutions within Ramadan Village. These will be attended by representatives from the Al Thiqah Club for the Handicapped, Emirates Scouts Association, Sharjah Charity Institution, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Department of Culture and Information, and the municipalities of each major city.

The Branch Director revealed that a special raffle promo will be organised for the Festival's prizes, under the direction of H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Al Midfa, SCCI Chairman and Ruwad Establishment Deputy Chairman. The raffle draw will take place during the second half of Ramadan, with prizes to be decided by the Higher Organising Committee and boosted by contributions from the Festival's sponsors.
