SriLankan Airlines provides special arrangements for fasting passengers

- PRESS RELEASE
SriLankan Airlines has made arrangements for the convenience of passengers of the Islamic faith during the annual Ramadan fasting period from 2nd September to 1st October.
The airline is even providing takeaway packs for passengers on Jeddah bound flights that touch down shortly before 6 p.m, since they may need to break their fast while still at the airport.
Passengers are requested to inform the airline of their special requirements at the time of booking their flight, to their travel agent or to the SriLankan Airlines ticket office.
Passengers who book through the Internet should also notify the airline through the "Meal Request" column in the on-line form.
This is especially important where groups of fasting passengers are travelling, so that arrangements can be made well ahead of the flight, as regular flights are only prepared for a limited number of fasting passengers with special needs.
Passengers should also bring their special needs to the attention of staff at the airport check-in counters, so that fasting passengers can be allocated seating together, if possible, and cabin staff will be notified of their special requirements. All cabin staff have been briefed with regard to these special arrangements during Ramadan.
SriLankan Airlines now serves 41 destinations in 22 countries, throughout the Middle East, Europe, South Asia, and the Far East.

SriLankan Airlines is expanding its Middle East operations, most recently adding two weekly services to Jeddah to its network starting March 27. The airline also increased its frequencies into Qatar and Bahrain recently, taking the airlines total frequencies into the Middle East to 45 flights a week. The airline has also recently opened up new routes into Asia adding a third weekly service to Goa and launching double daily services to Mumbai earlier this year. The growing number of services to India takes SriLankan Airlines closer to the 100 flights a week mark, and reinforces its position as the foreign carrier with the most number of frequencies into ten key cities across India.
