Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the 4th round of the popular MRM Business Award this year will be celebrating the new MRM Corporate Social Responsibility Award.

Now it's time for the business leaders to stand up and be recognised under the new category of the popular Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award. The newly-created MRM Corporate Social Responsibility Award will honour companies who integrate corporate social responsibility into their company's core business strategy.

Held annually under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the MRM Business Award which is a Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry initiative and winner of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme's Award for Distinguished Administrative Initiative 2007, now expands its scope by including the two new awards of MRM CSR and MRM Supply Chain and Logistics for its fourth round this year.

Said HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Dubai Chamber Director General:
"It is with pride that Dubai Chamber introduces the new MRM Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award to recognise the outstanding CSR achievements of companies in the Emirate, in four key areas: Workplace, Marketplace, Community and the Environment. We welcome companies to participate in the MRM Awards by sharing their best practices with others and stand to be recognized for their efforts."

Added Gillian Foster, Manager, Center for Responsible Business, "The new
MRM Corporate Social Responsibility Award highlights the importance of CSR as an effective business strategy. The MRM Award has always focused on
performance and so does the MRM CSR Award which the companies will find
quite exciting."

As in past years, CSR is an integral component of all applications for the MRM. The good news is all firms applying to any of the MRM Award categories are automatically eligible for the MRM CSR Award as winners will be selected from the applicants of MRM Award categories including Manufacturing; Finance; Re-Export, Construction, Real Estate Development and another newly-instituted MRM Supply Chain and Logistics Award.

Applicants are required to provide details on the management and performance results of CSR issues as practiced in their respective organizations that demonstrate commitment to improve practice and contribute towards societal and national priorities in four key areas like Workplace, Marketplace, Community and the Environment.

Entries to the MRM Award are open to all companies operating across the UAE and its free zones can participate. The closing date is 20th November, 2008. For more information please call 800-MRM, that's 800676.
