The donation will help Bait al Khair's work in the Northern Emirates by providing food parcels and fresh water to villages where water supplies are very limited. Employees at Nakheel will be personally involved in the project by distributing and delivering these essential water and food parcels to those in need in this region.
Manal Shaheen, Director of Sales, Marketing and Customer Services, said:
"We are delighted to be able to support Bait al Khair, not only with the donation, but also with logistical support. The outstanding work that Bait al Khair has carried out in this region over the last 20 years has seen the lives of so many people change for the better. At Nakheel we have a vision to inspire humanity, and this goes far deeper than just building communities. It is our responsibility to ensure that these communities are sustainable, and we are pleased to be able to help other communities in our region that require aid."
Abdine Taher, Deputy General Manager from Bait Al Khair Society, added:
"We thank the people at Nakheel for their continued support of our charity. Without donations we would not be able to carry out our important work to help those in need of assistance. It is wonderful that many Nakheel employees are also giving up their own time to help with the distribution of the parcels. They can then see first hand just how much these donations matter."
The Bait al Khair Society was established in 1989 and provides programmes and funding for disadvantaged UAE nationals including: the poor, widows, divorcées, patients, low-income nationals, families of prisoners, disabled nationals, those with special needs, orphans, and students. The Bait Al Khair Society works closely with public welfare societies and institutions in the UAE to carry out its charitable endeavors.
The Bait al Khair Society is Nakheel's nominated local charity for this year's Ramadan online initiative. Visitors to Ramadan Nakheel website will be invited to make a pledge; in turn Nakheel will make a donation to Bait al Khair and international charities that work to provide clean drinking water to communities around the globe.
