This makes Dubai Bank the first UAE bank to offer such an enriched mobile banking service to its customers.
Mohammed Amiri, Dubai Bank's Head of Retail said,
"Dubai Bank customers who are already using Dubai Bank Online will automatically be able to access the Dubai Bank mobile service free of charge, using the same login information that they use to access the Internet banking service. This simplified, secure access to the mobile banking service will enable customers to start using it immediately, without the hassle of completing registration formalities."
"In addition to the transactional services that Dubai Bank's mobile service provides, customers can access a range of informational services including details on branch and ATM locations, branch timings and link to the bank's website," Amiri explained.
According to Dubai Bank's Chief Information Officer, Faizal Eledath, the new mobile Internet service from Dubai Bank will provide customers with access to all account and card-related transactions, such as transfers, bill payments, account opening and much more.
"It is user friendly, as the service is equipped to provide an intelligent and intuitive interface between functionalities," Eledath added.
The UAE has the highest mobile phone penetration rate in the Middle East and North Africa, which is set to surpass 200% in the next five years.
This prompted Dubai Bank to take the initiative in designing and developing this innovative service to its ever growing and sophisticated customer base.
