Western Region Municipality launches rice distribution program for Western Region citizens

His Excellency Hamoud Humaid Al Mansouri, General Manager, Western Region Municipality (WRM), announced the beginning of the municipality's program of rice distribution to citizens residing in the Western Region in need of essential food commodities is to begin today.
Service centres and distribution facilities will operate inline with the official working hours of the UAE Ramadan timing. The Distribution of the rice packages throughout the Western Region will be conducted through various units in the following cities: Zayed City, Liwa, Mirfa, Ghayathi, Sila, and Delma Island. The distribution of rice to citizens will be on monthly basis; however payment centres will be operating daily.
WRM has identified specific locations for rice distribution in each of the cities, alongside to specific payment collection units throughout the region.
- In Zayed City, rice will be distributed to citizens at the municipality warehouses located in the industrial zone, while payments will be collected at the Area Services Building during official working hours in addition to evening hours from nine o'clock until twelve thirty am.
- In Mirfa, rice will be distributed to citizens at the municipality warehouses located behind the Harbor area hospital, while payments will be collected at the Area Services unit in the Municipality Building during official working hours.
- In Liwa, Delma Island, and Ghayathi rice packages will be delivered to the beneficiaries' homes within 24 hours of the payment of due fees which will be collected at the Area Services department at the municipality building in each area.
- In Sila, rice packages will be delivered to the beneficiaries' homes within 24 hours of the payment of due fees which will be collected at branches of the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank.

About Western Region Municipality:The Municipal office located in Madinat Zayed, west of Abu Dhabi city, was established in May 2006 under H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed AL Nahyan.
