du special edition Ramadan recharge card offers free mobile content

In-line with the spirit of Ramadan and commitment to community involvement, du, the UAE's integrated telecom operator, is celebrating Ramadan with launch of a special edition Ramadan recharge card that enables customers to get free downloadable mobile content.

This is yet another offering under the theme 'Little Things Matter' adopted by du this Ramadan.

Available during the entire month of Ramadan this year, the special edition recharge card offers free mobile content such as Ramadan themed wallpapers and animations to all customers who buy these recharge cards. A total of six items are given as a FREE download (three wallpapers and three animations).

Farid Faraidooni, EVP Commercial, du, said:
"Little things matter. du's special Ramadan edition the Recharge Card is one thing that is small yet powerful. du customers now have the privilege of accessing exclusive mobile content without paying for it. It's our special way to say, we care."


To request for the FREE Ramadan content, du customers need to refer to the special booklet which is available with the recharge card. Against each FREE content listed, there is a SMS code that the customer needs to send to a short code 1001. The content is free for downloads within the UAE. However, regular roaming charges will apply if the customer is outside the UAE. Availability of content is subject to handset compatibility.

SMS Ramadan Challenge:



The popular du SMS Ramadan Challenge launched at the beginning of this holy month has witnessed over 1.7 Mio SMS hits during the first 2 weeks of Ramadan. The first 2 weeks saw over 112 Weekly winners over 50,000 participants. Through this competition, du customers can test their knowledge of Ramadan, the Arabic language and UAE culture. The challenge has weekly and grand prizes to be won, apart from free credits for every correct answer.

Mobile Content:



In an exclusive partnership with MBC, du is offering MBC's Pocket Series 'Rabeh wa Douktora' to all du customers with 3G enabled mobile phones.

du has also partnered exclusively with the leading Islamic TV Channel 'Al Majd' and is offering the channel as part of its mobile TV offering.

In addition to this, du customers can continue to enjoy seasons 1 and 2 of the popular animated cartoon series Freej on du Mobile TV.

Iftar:



du is organising Mawaid Al Rahman (Iftar meals) in eight locations across the UAE viz. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman. The air conditioned tents provide free Iftar meals daily within an authentic Ramadan experience, for customers and the wider community.
