American Hospital Dubai appoints new Chief Executive Officer

The American Hospital Dubai, one of the leading private healthcare institutions in the UAE and GCC, has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Richard Larison as the new Chief Executive Officer of the hospital.

Mr Larison formally took up his new post in July 2008.

Mr. Larison, a US citizen, previously held senior positions in several leading healthcare organizations in the US, including roles as Executive Director at Great Lakes Cancer Institute, Flint, Michigan; Executive Vice President, All Saints Hospital, Forth Worth, Texas; President/CEO at MD Anderson Cancer Network, Forth Worth, Texas.

In 2004, Mr. Larison joined Apollo Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh as Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining the American Hospital Dubai, he was the Managing Director at Indraprastha Medical Corporation, New Delhi, India.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Larison says:

"As I learn more about Dubai and the hospital, I am increasingly impressed with what has been accomplished within the community and at the American Hospital Dubai, since it was established 10 years ago. Through the collective efforts of the Dubai government and the private healthcare sector, Dubai has become a hub of high quality healthcare services for the region. The American Hospital Dubai has supported this achievement with a combination of American/Western credentialed physicians, highly trained staff, world class facilities and the latest in technology, creating an institution that has helped to change the view of healthcare in the Gulf region."


Richard Larison completed his Bachelors Degree (BS) in Accounting from the University of Missouri, Columbus, Missouri and subsequently went on to complete his Masters Degree (MS) in Public Health Administration from the same university.
