The maiden flight took off on its inaugural services on the sector with a full complement of passengers, on-board its state-of-the-art, internationally-configured Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a two-class configuration: Première and Economy.

The inaugural Jet Airways flight arrived in Muscat International Airport from Thiruvananthapuram on 15th September at 10:30 hrs, to a loud applause from a cross section of officials, dignitaries and members of the travel trade. Present at the airport were local dignitaries and Jet Airways Senior management to receive the first passengers from the inaugural flight. These included the Chief Guest, Mr. Abdulrazaq Bin Said Bin Saleh Al Mandhar - Director of Air Transport, Mohd Asif Ali - GM Jet Airways, Oman, Mr. Jay David - Jet Airways Country Manager and Mr. Melroy Rosario - Airport Manager, Jet airways Muscat.

Welcoming the guests and the passengers to arrive from Thiruvananthapuram, Mr. Asif Ali said:
"Jet Airways is proud to be the first private India based international airline to connect Muscat and Thiruvananthapuram. Our customers' needs are our first priority and this flight is a prime example of how we are catering to the needs of the Gulf- Kerala sector. Not only do we offer premium class services and the ultimate flying experience, we have also created a convenient flight schedule that is manageable for our passengers."

The flight to Thiruvananthapuram is the fifth gateway point in India for Jet Airway flights from six destinations across the Gulf, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The other destinations catered to in India are the hubs of Mumbai, Delhi, Kozhikode and Kochi.

Jet Airways' addition of this new destination is another notch in their bid to further their Gulf expansion and reinforce its position as India's premier international airline. Daily service to and from Thiruvananthapuram will now offer passengers far greater choice and convenience for business travel and over the holiday peak season.
