The finalists in the category were marked out of ten covering 6 criteria; choice of games, merchandising, branding & POS opportunities, overall store experience, promotional opportunities and availability of formats. Virgin Megastore, which diversified a number of years ago from its primary core product of music, has steadily increased shop floor space for its games section and provided dedicated staff to cater to the needs of the huge gaming market. This strategic shift has allowed Virgin Megastore to focus its highly trained people on the products in their area of expertise thus allowing it to better serve its customers.
