Middle East Council of Shopping Centres presents 'ABCs of Leasing'

The Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) has announced two intensive workshops focused on leasing to be held in October and November.

Each workshop is two days in duration and will be facilitated by industry expert Walter Kleinschmit, President or R2E Consultants Inc.

The ABC's of Leasing Workshops will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on October 11 - 12, 2008 and in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on November 19 - 20, 2008. The program will be conducted in English in both locations with additional Arabic presentations in Saudi Arabia.

Aimed at regional mall operators and retailers, the workshop will highlight all aspects of lease management and the importance of well planned and researched leasing initiatives. It will also provide guidance in planning, preparation of lease contracts and guaranteeing branding and promotional opportunities for retailers.

"One of the objectives for the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres is to drive quality standards across the industry. Workshops such as the ABC's of Leasing play a key role in achieving this goal,"

said Mr Maher Al Shaer, President, MECSC.

"Continuing professional development through attendance at workshops such as the ABC's of leasing is crucial, to not only develop careers, but more importantly stay abreast of change in the thriving retail sector," said Mr Al Shaer.

MECSC is a voluntary, non-profit association. Established in 1994, the council has more than 750 active members. Covering a territory of 18 countries in the region, the MECSC represents the interests of shopping mall owners, developers, marketing managers, leasing managers and specialists, retailers, consultants, property managers, financiers, accountants, government officials and industry suppliers.
