The large gathering of more than 500 CGC family enjoyed raffle draws, which offered various attractive prizes, including Emirates and Bahrain airlines' tickets, LCD TV, watches, digital cameras, microwave ovens, traveling kits, perfumes as well as many shopping and dining vouchers. The staff's kids were presented with gift items and got their faces coloured with designer paintings. The ladies also got chance to have henna carved on their hands.
A number of employees were presented with certificates, plaques and cash prizes for their excellent work performances. Senior Manager Dileep Kumar got the most coveted Leadership Award, while TETRA Division Manager Gabriel D'Mello, IT Solutions Manager Nitin Ghuliani, Customer Care Manager Mohamed Faisal, Business Development Manager Syed Ayaz, Project officials E. Chandrasekhar, Mark Reid and Vikas Jain, CGC Nokia personnel Fadi and Tareq Bony, Senior Designer Leah Sanchez, Sr. Accountant Priyanka Mishra, Executive Secretary Manoj Kumar M. and Office staff Mohamed Aslam received the best performance awards for their professional commitment, contribution and deliverance. The quiz contest winners of CGC newsletter, Expressions, received Nokia phones and Enhancements in prizes.
CGC CEO Munther Khalid, Head of Business Development Anil Mahajan, Finance Manager Tawfeeq Salem graced the occasion to celebrate the 21 years of CGC. The ceremony was conducted by Diana Ritz, a professional Master of Ceremony, where the guests' senses came alive to the sounds, sights, tastes and smells of a true Arabian experience.
The stunning Oriental and Indian specialty buffet included all the traditional hallmarks of the Ramadan season. There were live cooking stations serving up a variety of delicacies including Arabic sweets.
Punjabi bhangra and Arabian entertainers filled the tent with their lyrical performances and magic shows. A live five piece band playing traditional music including Oud and Tabla and a Daraweesh Tourneur performing a whirling dance together created a breath-taking spectacle for the guests to make the event unforgettable. The warm welcoming ambience was enhanced through the rich Arabic décor and the Majlis style seating inside the tent, perfectly in harmony with the holy month of Ramadan.
In his welcome speech, Munther Khalid said:
"The holy month of Ramadan gives us opportunity to gather together in celebration of our shared values and cultures. It gives me immense satisfaction to see the ever-growing CGC family of about 25 nationalities under one roof. The annual get-together is an ideal occasion to freely mingle and further develop mutual understanding to solidify bonding with each other."
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Mahajan expressed his gratitude to the people of Qatar and esteemed business partners for having faith on CGC. He also appreciated CGC staff's immense contribution in the spectacular success of the company.
