Through SFC, the company plans to create the largest mobile community in the region. This online community for mobile phone users, aims to address the growing interest in its path-breaking mobile phones amongst the younger generation.

Commenting on the SFC launch in the region, Mr. D. K. Byeon, Managing Director, Samsung Gulf Electronics, (SGE) said, 'Samsung has an extremely committed and highly demanding customer base across the globe, the majority of which comprises the younger generation. Typically, these customers want a lot more out of their handsets than just plain telephony. We at Samsung are very conscious of such trends and are always looking to incorporate new user-friendly and exciting features into our overall offerings.'

'SFC is an extension of this attitude and provides our technology-savvy mobile phone customers with a platform to interact with each other and access several value-added services and programmes. In order to be a member, the customer has to simply log on to www.samsungmobile.com/mea, and fill out a digital form,' added Mr. Byeon.

Members can download screen savers, wallpapers, images, graphics, video clips and 16-polyphonic ring tones. Members can also further update their ring tones by searching the SFC online archives. They can also store their favourite audio and video collections on the archives, which can be downloaded or forwarded at anytime. Ring tones are available in Arabic, English, Hindi and Urdu languages.

SFC, which is already operational in several Asian and European countries, including China, UK, Italy, Spain and Germany, has already proven to be highly popular among mobile phone users.

'Furthermore, SFC will host several interesting and fun-filled activities including a series of quizzes and competitions among other exciting events. The company will also give away several prizes to winners of these competitions,' concluded Mr. Byeon.
