Etisalat unveils new ePayment packages

In a move aimed at offering online retailers and eCommerce merchants a cost effective and powerful ePayment service, Etisalat announced the introduction of three new packages with a combination of the Etisalat Payment Gateway (EPG) for credit card payments and BizDirect - a online direct debit payment service.
Etisalat is also expanding its network outside the UAE with merchants in KSA and Qatar now being able to avail Etisalat ePayment services.
Online merchants now have the option of three packages starting with the BizDirect service.
They can also subscribe to the Basic Payment package (combination package of EPG and BizDirect).
The third package which is called a Payment Plus Package includes both BizDirect and EPG in addition to a Web reconciliation/ reporting service and a web Security scan.
"Our new ePayment packages will give a significant boost to eCommerce by lowering the barrier of entry for eCommerce merchants and giving them a secure and efficient ePayment capability at extremely affordable costs," said Abdulla Hashim, VP, Enterprise Solutions, Etisalat.
He added "This combination of enhanced functionality and new features will now create a powerful incentive for eCommerce merchants to expand their initiatives and enable consumers to embrace the convenience of shopping online in a secure environment. The Etisalat payment network is now connected to 6 Acquiring banks and 4 banks on the Bizdirect platform - and the intention is to expand this network to cover all the banks in the UAE, thus creating a seamless payment network for all merchants."
The Etisalat Payment Gateway has established a successful track record with more than 1.5 milllion transactions being processed through the EPG during 2007.
The BizDirect service is being offered in the UAE through four banks -Commercial Bank of Dubai, Emirates NBD , Abu Dhabi Commercial bank and Union National Bank.
