With the first championship played in 1973, the President's Cup is one of the oldest national institutions in the UAE and a perennial favorite amongst football lovers across the nation.

"It is indeed a proud moment for us to have the opportunity to be associated with and be the sole sponsor of His Highness' President's Cup,"

said Mohamed Jamil Berro, CEO, Al Hilal Bank.

"This sponsorship is part of our overall strategy to be closer to our customers and the community and we want to remind them - 'It's all about you'. Sports demonstrate the values that are at the very core of our bank's DNA - team spirit, camaraderie and the ability to excel in a competitive environment - values that we see in both our staff and this Cup," continued Berro.

Mohamed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, President of the UAE Football Association said, "We think it appropriate that the first sponsor for the President's Cup is an organization that is so completely dedicated to the strength of the nation. We look forward to many fruitful years of partnership."

In tandem with being the sole sponsor for the coveted prize, Al Hilal Bank plans on announcing a series of customer engagement initiatives for its customers.

In addition to the signing ceremony, cementing the partnership between the UAE Football Association and Al Hilal, the celebration opening the football season included a draw establishing the playing order for the coming season.

"We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the clubs and wish the players a successful and enjoyable season" said Berro.

The festivities inaugurated the excitement that the public has learned to expect from the charged and thrilling competition leading up to the finals of the President's Cup.
