Paint manufacturers need to be ready for green new world

In a world becoming more aware of the issues facing the planet, manufacturers are producing safer, water-based paints that are non-toxic, containing no lead or mercury, that provide even more impressive results.

Recent scientific developments now allow paint coatings to provide outstanding industrial protection while also helping to reduce the carbon footprint.

Dulux, exclusively supplied throughout the Middle East by Al Gurg Leigh's Paints, is employing LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards in all of its paints, and it is already more than 75% of the way towards reaching targets laid down for 2010.

Al Gurg Leigh's Paints is the first paint company in the UAE to become members of the U.S. Green Building Council.
