Ministry of Economy conducts inspections at Emirates Co-op Society and Lulu Hypermarket in Dubai

The UAE Ministry of Economy (MoE) conducted inspection tours of Emirates Co-op Society outlet and Lulu Hypermarket in Dubai, yesterday.
Mr Al Shihhi said that the Ministry had arranged meetings with key retail outlets before the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan to ensure that prices are maintained at stable rates. He praised the social responsibility sense of the retail outlets towards their customers and their efforts in price management, which were a clear example of their co-operation with governmental initiatives.
Teams from the different offices of the ministry are inspecting retail outlets all over the UAE during Ramadan to ensure that prices remain at agreed levels and prevent any possible manipulation by traders.
Al Shihhi said violators will be punished according to consumer protection law number (24),. Consumers can call the hotline (600522225) to notify the Ministry of any cases relating to monopolies or rise in food prices.
