Attended by more than 40 participants representing Chambers of Commerce worldwide as well as various international business support organisations, the training was led by representatives of WIPO, ICC and renowned intellectual property experts. The training sessions were followed by meetings with high level WIPO officials and provided Dubai Chamber representatives Jehad Kazim, Director, Legal Services, and Najat Ferchachi,
Business Development Executive, with better insights into WIPO as an organisation dedicated towards promotion and protection of IP. The meetings explored new areas of cooperation opportunities between the two organisations to boost IP rights in the region.

Today, effective management of Intellectual Property is the key driving force behind the success of companies in domestic and international markets, hence Dubai Chamber will be taking various measures for creating awareness
and providing assistance to its local businesses for making effective use of IP assets to increase their competitiveness. The Chamber also aims to increase its capacity on available tools necessary to set up successful intellectual property programmes for local businesses.

Said Jehad Kazim:
"Dubai Chamber will be focusing on various means of providing IP capacity building services to its members, and outline the resources and opportunities available to the Chamber for building successful partnerships with world renowned organisations such as WIPO to create an IP based economy and help innovators to reach out to global markets."
