For over 18 years, he has worked for corporate planning, overseas investment, and overseas marketing mainly for North America and Latin America markets.
Among Paik's significant achievements in the company is spearheading the brand transition from Zenith to LG in the North American market and establishing strategic ties with key retailers.
Another remarkable accomplishment was achieving the number one market share for several LG products in the Latin American market.
"With Mr. Paik's impressive track record and business experience, we are confident that he will be able to grow our business in the region as it enters a new phase of development,"
said Mr. K.W. Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company.
"The Middle East and Africa region is a strategic market for LG Electronics and contributes significantly to LG's global performance. Paik's appointment comes at a time when we have seen considerable growth and opportunity for LG and our growing community of partners," Kim added.
Paik's appointment comes at an important time as LG seeks to capitalise on its growing share of the MEA's smart home solutions market.
The boom in the region's construction sector has seen more and more developer turning to LG's sophisticated solutions to create state-of-the-art living spaces for their customers.
As the President of LG Gulf Operations, Paik will be responsible for expediting growth in the region and for leading the company into the next level of its growth.
LG Gulf has registered 38% increase in sales turnover compared to last year.
"With the strong foundation set by the current management team and employees, my goal is to take the company to its next level of expansion," Paik said.
"My main aim is to strengthen LG's market leading position by rolling out technologically advanced products to cater to the demands of this market. We are aiming to achieve sales turnover of $700m from our Dubai operation this year and I want to ensure we meet our targets."
Paik has completed his Bachelors degree from Yonsei University Korea in Business Administration and Masters degree in Business Administration from Golden Gate University USA.
