The license will enable Credit Suisse to open a branch in Manama, Bahrain, thus further expanding its footprint in the Middle East.

Through its Investment Firm License approved by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Credit Suisse will provide high net worth individuals with a comprehensive range of investment products and services responding to the dynamic development and fast growing demand in Bahrain and the surrounding region.

Bruno Daher, Co-CEO of Credit Suisse in the Middle East, said:
"We are pleased to be further expanding our footprint in the Middle East with a local presence in Bahrain. This reflects Credit Suisse's ongoing commitment to our clients in the region, which is one of the Bank's key growth markets."

Credit Suisse is highly committed to the Middle East and has been building its knowledge and understanding of the region for four decades. It was one of the first foreign banks to establish operations in the area and today has offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh, Beirut and Cairo serving clients across Private Banking, Investment Banking and Asset Management. The acquisition of this license and the subsequent office opening further demonstrates the Bank's commitment to this fast growing market.
