- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, September 24 - 2008 at 14:59
- PRESS RELEASE
Sanyo Gulf FZE, a subsidiary of SANYO Electric Co. Ltd, has unveiled its next-generation Full HD digital movie camera - the 'Xacti VPC-HD 1010' incorporating a range of advanced features for superior video and still recording.
The camera's signal processing is optimized for gamma correction and noise reduction, improving lens color-sensitivity and image quality when filming in darker conditions.
"Sanyo has always led the way in the regional digital entertainment market with its range of innovative solutions, and we break new ground yet again with the launch of the next-generation VPC -HD 1010," said Takashi Hirao, Chief Regional officer of Sanyo Middle East, India and Africa.
"The Xacti VPC -HD 1010 combines an ergonomic design with a bevy of advanced features and improved functions to provide superior image quality - even when filming in murky conditions."
"The Middle East has been identified as an important strategic market for Sanyo; our Xacti series in particular has enjoyed immense popularity within the Arab world, and we are positive the VPC -HD 1010 will appeal to camera enthusiasts across the region," Hirao added.
The VPC-HD 1010 features a new 'slow-motion' video function, and allows easy saving and playback of filmed data with the improved 'Xacti Library' date-sorting calendar function.
The Library only requires the docking station that comes with the camera and an external hard drive connected with a USB cable to efficiently save and playback videos and stills.
Files can be saved / sorted by date of filming, allowing simple file management and browsing.
The camcorder also features the "Face Chaser" face detection technology which allows the recognition of up to 12 faces in both video and picture shots.
The feature allows the camera to adjust the focus and the luminosity so that the faces of the subjects would appear extremely clear.
Moreover, the VPC-HD 1010 allows stills to be taken even while recording a video without stopping or interruption.
Other features of the new Xacti VPC -HD 1010 include 'digital image stabilizer', which senses camera revolution and photographic subject movement, 'contrast correct' function which allows sharper images that can be edited after they are taken, 'in-camera video editing' function, and 'pixel-interpolation technology' that allows still-photo re-sizing up to 8.0 Megapixels.
