  • PRESS RELEASE

Dubai Export Development Corporation (EDC), the Dubai government body charged with promoting exports from the Emirate, is expanding the export opportunities for Dubai's food and beverage (F&B) products in Australia through participation in the Fine Food Australia (FFA) Exhibition.

EDC is supporting IFFCO, Al Ghurair Foods and Masafi Co. - three leading UAE-based F&B companies - to exhibit the latest developments and achievements in the region's food industry at the Dubai Pavilion in FFA Exhibition on 22-25 September at Melbourne Exhibition Centre. In the UAE, more than Dhs5.11bn ($1.4bn) have been invested for the past 20 years to develop a value-added food-manufacturing sector which will target local and re-export markets.

"As the official export promotion agency of the Dubai government, EDC's role is to support F&B manufacturers based in the emirates to develop and diversify their overseas operations. The FFA exhibition is a perfect venue to promote Dubai's export industry and capabilities across the Australian market as major F&B companies worldwide are participating in the event,"

said Engr. Saed Al Awadi, Chief Executive Officer, EDC.

"During this exhibition, Dubai and Australian Firms will be able to discuss possible business partnerships. Eventually, we hope that this opportunity will cement future business deals for Dubai-based F&B companies," he added.

Participating for the first time at the FFA exhibition, Al Ghurair Foods is one of the largest foods manufacturing and marketing business in the Gulf, with main business units include edible oil and flour, pasta, pulses, rice and many more while IFFCO manufactures and markets a well integrated range of mass-market consumer products particularly within the F&B sector, consisting of confectionary, ice cream, oil and fat and juices. Masafi Co., one of the leading producers of pure natural mineral water in the Gulf, has been exporting to GCC, Asian, African and European markets with overseas sales constituting 27% of the Masafi business.

Fine Food Australia is the definitive exhibition for the food, beverage and hospitality industry, showcasing the latest innovations in food, drink and related equipment. This exciting international event brings together buyers and sellers from around the world, with feature areas focusing on bakery, confectionery, dairy, drinks, meat & seafood, natural products and equipment for retail, catering and hospitality.
