Visitors to Adobe's GITEX stand can discover Acrobat 9's enhanced features, including those of the product's Arabic version, developed by Adobe's multilingual publishing partner WinSoft.

Stand visitors can meet with product specialists and evangelists, join product training sessions and attend live demonstrations.

"We are looking forward to receiving positive feedback to the new Adobe product range from GITEX visitors as interest from the Middle East market to the Acrobat product has been strong for many years - our year of year growth in the Middle East is phenomenal,"

said Andrew Lindstrom, Adobe Regional Manager, MEA and MED.

"GITEX provides us with a highly effective forum to educate our audiences about our latest product developments, particularly those that have been customised to meet the specific requirements of the Middle East market."

Acrobat 9's innovations transform the creation and sharing of electronic documents.

New functionality allows users to embed Flash Player compatible video and application files into PDF documents and to unify a wide range of content such as documents, video, audio and 3D objects into a single compressed file.

Acrobat users across the world can also store and share files via Acrobat.com which acts as a central data collection location for shared document review.

The Middle East/Arabic version is a significant upgrade for users who need to create and share electronic documents using Arabic text.

Web pages can be converted to PDF documents with assurance that script will appear correctly.

Arabic text can be copy/pasted and modified using the TouchUp tool.

Additional features are designed to handle non-Roman text and digits as well as the Arabic right to left paragraph direction.

A search and replace option can be applied to Arabic text throughout a PDF document.

"With so many global businesses now operating in the Middle East and the worldwide expansion of Middle East businesses, this new family of products allows people spread across great geographical distances to communicate the way they want to, in the language they want to," said Jacob Alex, Adobe Channel Manager, MEA and MED.

Adobe's stand at GITEX will feature two product demonstration theatres, meeting rooms and suites where customers can meet with product specialists. A dedicated media and press lounge will also be built into the stand's format in 2008.

Adobe will be located at Hall 4 C4-20b at GITEX Technology Week, running October 19-24 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
