The Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Business Optimism Index is a measure of business confidence in an economy. Released quarterly, it is based on a business sentiment survey that is designed to capture business expectations. It is one of the most effective ways to track how the business community perceives the business environment, and where they think it is moving.

The D&B Business Optimism Indexes are commonly used to assist in analyzing major trends, outlook and issues concerning the business community. Over time the D&B Business Optimism Index develops into leading indicators of business activity, and thus assists the business and investment community, and also policy makers, in gauging short-term outlook and strategic planning.

Frank T. Khoie, CEO and Chairman of the Khoie Group, states:
"At the Khoie Group, we recognize the importance of solid business research to assist in developing business strategy, and we anticipate that, as the UAE economy continues to grow and attract investor interests, the Business Optimism Index is set to become an essential tool in assisting companies to track developments in the local economy, and to anticipate and make provisions for changes in the business landscape."

Rajesh Mirchandani, CEO of D&B South Asia Middle East Ltd., added:
"Developing and maintaining investor interest is influenced to a large degree by the availability of up-to-date economic information. The D&B Business Optimism Index has been designed to serve this requirement by capturing the sentiment of the business community about the UAE's business environment and making it available on a quarterly basis."

Commenting on the partnership with the Khoie Group, Rajesh Mirchandani adds, "We are pleased to have the Khoie Group on board for this initiative, and we feel that the Khoie Group's involvement underlines its commitment to contribute to the development of the national economy."

As the latest addition to D&B's global series of Business Optimism Indexes, the Business Optimism Index on the UAE will be issued on a quarterly basis and will be one of the most effective ways to keep track of where businesses think the UAE economy is moving. The first index on the UAE will be released in the beginning of October 2008 and will provide an outlook for Q4 2008.
