Using the laser inscription service from International Diamond Laboratories (IDL), it is now possible to inscribe Eid greetings on diamonds.

"Greeting friends and family during Eid and giving them memorable gifts is a tradition that is very much cherished to this day. With our laser inscription services, it is now possible to give it a modern twist - Eid greetings said with diamonds,"

said Peter Meeus, CEO of IDL, a Dubai Government initiative to provide diamond certification.

"We initially launched laser inscription to write IDL certificate number on diamonds and protect their identity. Now it is being widely used by customers to convey personal messages. We see this as a growing trend," Meeus added.

Popular inscription requests that IDL has received during the Holy Month include "Happy Ramadan", "Happy Eid" and "Eid Mubarak".

IDL uses cold laser technology to do the inscription, which ensures that the diamond is in no way damaged. The minimum font size is 30 micron (= 0.03 mm) and the size of the diamond should be at least 20 pointers (0.20 carat) or more.

In Dubai, this service can be availed from IDL sales office located in the Gold Land Building at Gold Souq.

Apart from laser inscription services, IDL offers diamond certificates that accurately define the 4 C's - carats, colour, clarity and cut - of a diamond, guaranteeing its quality and value. Arabic IDL certificates are also available.
