Swan Telecom gets licences in India

Swan Telecom, a new Indian telecom venture in which Etisalat acquired a 45% stake for $900m last week, has received clearance from India's Department of Telecommunications to offer a complete array of telecommunications services, reported Gulf. Company sources said yesterday that Swan has been given approval to operate national and international long distance services. It has also received clearance to provide mobile, fixed-line and internet services.
