IBQ's 'Do Good Deeds for Charity' donation to Al Noor Institute for the Blind

IBQ donated QR 20,000 to the Al-Noor Institute for the Blind as the final philanthropic initiative to the "Do Good Deeds in the month of Charity" campaign. The donation was presented to the institute by the Deputy General Manager of IBQ.

The "Do Good Deeds for Charity" campaign which the bank launched to mark the beginning of the holy month, included a donation drive by the bank's employees. The management of the bank then matched the amount collected and donated the amount to Al Noor Institute for the Blind.

"This philanthropic initiative is the final of many good deeds IBQ initiated during the Holy month of Ramadan. The aim of our "Do Good Deeds' Campaign was to demonstrate our commitment to help the community and acknowledge their contribution to our success.

We also wanted bring joy to those less fortunate. We are confident that the Al-Noor Institute for the Blind will make good use of these resources to help blind members of the community enhance their quality of life," said IBQ Deputy General Manager, Muhannad Kamal.

Khalid Al Sheaibi ,Head of Public Relations for the Al-Noor Institute for the Blind said, "I would like to thank IBQ for their generous contribution to the Al Noor Institute for the blind.

It is through the benevolent actions of organisations such as IBQ that allows us to improve the quality of life for the visually mpaired in Qatar. We are very appreciative that IBQ has selected us to be part of their 'do good deeds' campaign and their contribution will allow us to keep giving back to the local community''.

Mr Kamal went on to say that, "Our team of staff volunteers was paramount to the success of the campaign. They contributed their time to ensure the different good deeds were successfully executed. We are proud of the commitment that our staff have shown in serving the community."

The Al-Noor Institute for the Blind was inaugurated in 1998. The institute works to extend educational services to the blind to help them overstep their disability and prepare them to undertake a more socially productive role. The Institute serves students from 3 to 21 years of age.
