Keeping in mind that the Holy month of Ramadan is an appropriate time to explore the rich heritage and traditions of a fast-growing nation like the UAE, the country's popular premier English language local TV station, City 7 TV, is all set to unveil a host of new shows and special programmes that will showcase Arabic culture and customs.
First in the series of new shows to be launched on City 7 TV during Ramadan was previewed at the City 7 TV Iftaar event - Ask Ali and Postcards Arabia. The shows are City 7 TV's way of paying tribute to the beautiful UAE.
Emirati national, 28-year old Ali Al Saloom, a charismatic tour guide and cultural consultant will present the unique new show Ask Ali. Through each episode Ali will answer questions related to various traditions and culture of UAE. This half-hour programme will take viewers on an entertaining discovery around the emirates. A spin off from his popular website, the show Ask Ali will give you a deep insight into the interesting lifestyle surrounding the people of the UAE.
Postcard Arabia is another new show to debut on City7 TV. The 5-minute special travel feature promises to turn audiences into armchair travellers. This travel show aims to introduce the Emirates and ultimately the region to viewers as seen through the eyes of an expatriate. Presented by popular travel show host Natalie Carney, Postcard Arabia will be the perfect guide to travel lovers in the region. This all-encompassing travel programme will tell audiences everything about a city's natural beauty, history, cultural habits and places of interest.
These new shows are not the only specialities on City 7 TV this Ramadan. The channel will also telecast two very special programmes - the Al Ain Special and the Ras Al Khaimah Special. Known for its greenery, the garden city of Al Ain will be presented in a new light, when this special programme explores this four-thousand-year-old heritage destination. In a series of stories, City 7 News will peep into the rich history of Al Ain and finds out how it could soon be listed as a United Nations World Heritage Site.
The series on Ras Al Khaimah investigates the other side of the popular weekend getaway which is believed to be the home to strange stories, jinns, haunted palaces and abandoned villages. The brave heart reporters of City 7 TV delve into deeper meanings to find out the truth.
