As part of its annual Group Gala Dinner event which brings together senior managers from all of its operating and associate companies, KIPCO makes awards to the best company of the year and the best employee of the year from each company.
The awards were presented by KIPCO Board Director, Mr Abdullah Bishara. The event was held at the Sheikha Salwa Sabah Al-Ahmad Al Sabah Hall in Salmiya.
The 2008 KIPCO Group Company of the Year award was given to United Gulf Bank in recognition of the company's terrific performance during the last 12 months. The bank's Acting Chief Executive, Mr Mohammad Haroon, accepted the award on behalf of all the bank's employees.
The 2008 award for Best Employees of KIPCO Group was given to the employees of Jordan Kuwait Bank, who under the leadership of its chairman His Excellency Abdul Karim Al Kabariti, achieved outstanding results during the last year. The award was accepted on behalf of the bank's employees by United Gulf Bank Managing Director, Mr Masaud Hyatt.
KIPCO's Best Employees of the Year 2008 award was given to Group Chief Financial Officer Pinak Maitra and his team members, Bibhau Tamang and Anuj Rohtagi.
