Green Packet Networks to launch first WiMAX consultancy in Middle East

Middle East telecommunications operators, businesses, and individuals looking for superior broadband speed are set to benefit from the first dedicated WiMAX consultancy firm in the region set up by Green Packet Networks W.L.L in collaboration with a global division of its sister company Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd also known as P1.

The WiMAX consulting firm will lend first hand experience and expertise to WiMAX players in this region to assist them in accelerating deployment and achieving commercial success.

Amongst the consulting services available are WiMAX strategic business planning, technology deployment, sales and marketing strategies, and roll-out management. In addition, the firm will also offer consultation on WiMAX-related voice, video, and value added services.

Global trends are pointing to the fact that WiMAX is very much the future of high-speed data networks across the world. In the Middle East, the rapid socio-economic development and jarringly low broadband penetration rate have cause interest in WiMAX solutions to peak recently.

According to US-based Senza Fili Consulting, WiMAX offers a huge growth opportunity for operators facing slowing growth from retail to individual subscribers. It also estimated that there will be over 154 million connections supporting vertical applications within 3G, WiMAX, and LTE networks by 2014, generating more than $43bn in cumulative service revenue by that time.

Nik Ismail, the Executive Director for Green Packet Networks, said:
"Our WiMAX consulting service will enable operators to maximize their returns on investment and minimize trial and error by adopting our best practices. We're backed by strong credentials and success track record. as P1 in Malaysia is the first Commercial WiMAX Operator on the 802.16e 2.3Ghz Spectrum in the Asia Pacific region, and amongst the first in the world to offer WiMAX commercial services."

P1 is also in partnership with the biggest WiMAX advocate in the world, Intel, which has invested in P1 through its parent company KLSE-listed Green Packet Berhad; and are further collaborating on the commercial front to accelerate WiMAX deployment and adoption in Malaysia.

"To have our own vision supported by the giant that effectively brought us Wi-Fi is encouraging. We believe that we have a major role to play in the global WiMAX space and via our collaboration with GPN, we aim to add significant value to carriers seeking to increase its revenue, offer its customers faster, more robust, and cost-effective internet connectivity with WiMAX," concluded Nik Ismail.

Green Packet Networks (Bahrain) (GPN) will be present at this year's Gitex, in the Zabeel Hall, Stand Number Z-D1. GPN will be showcasing its WIMAX CPE, repeaters and unique Intouch Connection Manager during the show.
