BurJuman launches Dubai's Ultimate Avante Garde Fashion Contest

BurJuman has once again launched Dubai's Ultimate Avante Garde Fashion Contest: Runway Art. This fashion contest is popular for its innovative style, challenging all talented designers to defy convention and think completely out of the box. The Runway Art talent hunt marks BurJuman's commitment to offer an unmatched platform for the regional talent to showcase their creativity to the esteemed local, regional and international players in the fashion industry.

Participants can enter the fashion contest in any one of the two categories: the Amateur Category which is open to all emerging talent or the Professional Category for designers with at least 3 years of fashion experience. This year, the competition theme is 'Freedom' and all interested participants will have the opportunity to create a design that is inspiring, unconventional and quirky. The last day to submit entries is 2nd November 2008.

A panel of judges will determine the finalists who will be notified by November 6th. The short-listed entrants will then have seven weeks to complete their entries which will be showcased at fashion shows to be held at BurJuman on 18 and 19 December 2008. A rigorous selection procedure by the best in the fashion business in Dubai will identify the winners who will be judged on their creativity, uniqueness, craftsmanship, material & fabrics used, and the overall presentation.

There will be two winners in each category with the winner and runner-up of the Professional category walking away with cash prize, and the winner and the runner-up of the Amateur Category taking home.
