Al Jazeera Children's Channel upgrades website "more interactive than ever"

Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC) launched the updated interactive version of its website.

The facelift adds many state-of-the-art multimedia features to the original version aiming to showcase the latest in media technology and giving users an upgraded tool to explore and interact with JCC's diverse content.

With more than 200 hours of educational and entertaining broadcast material, let alone the latest multimedia tools, JCC's website now enables more interaction with both children and adults, more than ever.

Pre-schoolers have their share from the content with a friendly user interface that showcases a carefully designed and chosen content, to prepare the young ones for the school years. Pre-schoolers can draw, paint, listen to music, learn the alphabet and numbers, and much more...

For more than 5 months, the Multimedia and Website team has put lots of efforts and capability into this project, resulting in a website that reflects the true mission of JCC. The team will continue to upgrade and adapt the website as per the constant development of computer and internet technology and will continue to provide round the clock technical support.

"The website is fully interactive now" says Ayoub El Gaidi, Web and Multimedia Manager at Al Jazeera Children's Channel.

"Our website has been subject for development since the time we first launched it in 2006, given the constant and remarkable growth in our users database and the evolution in web and multimedia technology which moves at a quick pace. Today's upgraded version comes to boost our tools to cope with this revolution in which our children play a major and crucial role. On the other hand, we have built a bigger platform of communication that keeps us and the children well connected,"

Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC), a Pan Arabic edutainment channel, was launched in 2005. Through its unique concept and a range of own produced educational programmes, JCC opens up avenues for Arab Children to learn about different environments and cultures, as well as encourage them to learn and seek knowledge.

JCC's extensive range of programmes in Arabic appeals to and educates children aged three to fifteen. JCC produces about 40% of the broadcast programs, which includes the first debate show where Arab Children express themselves and communicate their thoughts. Al Jazeera Children's Channel is also the first to produce televised thematic magazines in Arabic covering different educational subjects: Science, Health, Technology, Sports as well as a competition shows and quizzes where fun meets general knowledge.

Al Jazeera Children's Channel has deployed state-of-the-art studios and facilities to ensure high quality TV production. JCC is committed to broadcasting new programmes for 8 of the 20 hours on weekdays and 9 of the 21 hours on weekends.

JCC is a free to air TV channel on Arabsat, Nilesat, and Hotbird reaching all Arab countries and Europe.

Qatar-headquartered, JCC has five regional offices in Cairo, Beirut, Amman, Rabat and Paris.
