- PRESS RELEASE
Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is opening a new phase of Business Bay & Ras Al-Khor Crossings Project.
Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, described the new phase as one of the vital projects in the emirate of Dubai.
Some sectors of the road include as much as six lanes in each direction, whereas other sectors vary from four to three lanes in each direction so as to allow for maximum possible intake of vehicles, she said.
"The new network enables free and direct traffic flow in both directions of Business Bay Crossing Road linking it with Al Khail & Financial Center Roads, as well as Oud Metha Road.
Traffic will be diverted to the new and permanent sectors of Business Bay Crossing Road, hence diverted roads linking Financial Center Road with Al-Khail Road, and Oud Metha Road with Ras Al-Khor Road & Al-Khail Road will therefore be abolished.
RTA is proceeding ahead with the remaining phases of the Project, which is scheduled to be opened before the end of this year.
"RTA Traffic & Roads Agency is following-up construction of a series of vital projects to upgrade & improve roads network in Dubai as part of its strategy and incessant efforts to tackle traffic congestion triggered by the rapid urban expansion, investment projects and population growth. The overall objective is to realize the vision of the RTA in providing 'safe & smooth transport for all', said Maitha in a concluding remark.
