An Iftar reception was organised on 24 September to commemorate the special anniversary celebrations. Senior officials, business leaders, industry professionals and over 300 guests attended the ceremony at the Mina A' Salam in Madinat, Jumeirah.

Dr Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said:
"Dubai Knowledge Village recently announced a 16% growth in the first half of 2008, a major feat that we attribute to the presence of leading worldwide providers at our cluster. Since our launch in 2003, we have successfully attracted more than 400 leading institutions that complement our vision to be the Middle East's foremost international destination for human capital management."

"Together with our business partners, we continuously work towards launching initiatives that support a knowledge-driven economy. One example is our DKV Events arm, which has hosted more than 25 events and attracted over 11,000 attendees since the beginning of this year," he added.

Addressing an invited audience of business partners and guests at the Iftar event, Ibrahim Moosa Jamel, Director of Business Development in Dubai Knowledge Village, emphasized the cluster's success in striking the right synergy with its partners to achieve international standards in human resource management and continuing education. He said DKV will continue to act as a suitable platform for globally competitive providers of advanced continuous education and higher learning.

Validating the benefits of forging an affiliation with the cluster, DKV's Business Partner Melad Ghabrial, Managing Director (Middle East and Africa) - Synergy Professional Services, said: "As global leaders in IT and business training, enterprise learning services, and software solutions, our company is built on the concept of "synchronized energy" and solid values of working together and sustaining a cooperative effort. We decided to join Dubai Knowledge Village primarily for its comprehensive environment and infrastructure, which has enabled us to fulfil our mission of delivering quality products and services to address the personal and professional requirements of our customers."

Safdar Sadruddin, Managing Director, of Career Enhancement Opportunities FZ-LLC, a human development company that focuses on career counselling, training and consultancy, is another DKV partner that acknowledged the cluster's pro-active approach in creating enabling platforms that facilitate the efficient expansion of its business partners.

Janine Croft, Managing Director, Xpert Learning, said: "Xpert Learning has always received an overwhelming support from DKV since we finalized our partnership with the cluster in June 2003. Being part of a recognized learning community has added weight to our own brand equity, which enabled us to expand from a small start-up company to a leading e-learning provider."

To date, Dubai Knowledge Village has successfully attracted prominent names in the industry such as Hewitt Associates, DBM Arabian Gulf, Sandpiper Management Consultants and others.
