The annual food / hotel / propac arabia exhibition is set for another successful year at its next edition in 2009, with its location in Jeddah, the centre of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's food sector, providing an unrivalled marketing opportunity for the Gulf Region's largest market.
In excess of 12,000 professional trade visitors registered in 2008 from across Saudi Arabia and neighbouring countries. Reflecting the strong Saudi economy, business confidence was high with exhibitors (over 250 from 26 countries) reporting deals running into many millions of US dollars. Over a third of exhibitors chose food / hotel / propac Arabia to launch new products to the market. The vast majority of exhibitors (88%) achieved new sales and many of the international participants successfully found agents or distributors.
With its prime location in Jeddah, the headquarters to the majority of the large Saudi importers and distributors and accounting for 80% of all foodstuffs imports through the Jeddah Islamic Port, food/hotel/propac arabia is the Kingdom's National Showcase and the Region's International Forum. A unique combination that provides a perfect marketing platform for this vibrant and lucrative market that sources the vast majority of its requirements from abroad.
The concurrent Agro-industries exhibition and convention of OIC member states
In cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), represented by the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) the Islamic Agro-industries exhibition and conference will be held in concurrence with food, hotel, propac arabia. The objectives of this first time event are development of trade amongst the Islamic countries, exchange of expertise and knowledge, provide investment opportunities and maintain strategically closer commercial relations among OIC members and other countries worldwide.
Held in parallel will be a high profile conference focusing on the world food crisis and its consequences on OIC member countries. Experts and economists from major international and regional organizations will contribute, with papers addressing the problems of the world food shortage, and presentations on suggested solutions and case studies.
