Paspaley jewels added glitter to the exclusive dinner at the Godolphin Ballroom of Emirates Tower Hotel where business leaders, tourism operators and racing enthusiasts cheered the arrival of delegates from the Victoria Racing Club, considered Australia's premier racing club, and its world famous 18-carat gold Emirates Melbourne Cup trophy.

His Excellency Jeremy Bruer, Australian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates graced the occasion. Also present were Australian jockey Simon Marshall and Wendy Green, the owner of the 1999 Melbourne Cup winner, Rogan Josh.

Held previously in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Manchester, London, Dublin and New Zealand, the Melbourne Cup Business Network event promotes bilateral trade, tourism and fashion links between Australian and Dubai businesses around the positive and dynamic atmosphere of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Paspaley, an Australian export success story, presented its signature pearl jewels to an appreciative audience.

Elegant models wearing stunning sets highlighted by the finest South Sea pearls from Australia paraded and mingled with guests.

To cap the evening, a fabulous Paspaley pendant necklace worth over Dhs10,000 was given away in a special raffle.

Pegah Goldooz, General Manager of Paspaley in the UAE, remarked: "Paspaley has always strived to promote understanding between Australia and countries where the brand is present. We are proud to be associated with Australia's much-awaited sporting event and thrilled by the arrival in Dubai of the coveted Emirates Melbourne Cup Trophy.

As Dubai holds status as a world centre of racing, the event gains special importance as a platform for mutual cooperation. And as the world's pearling pioneer, Paspaley is happy to contribute to efforts in this direction."

About Paspaley:

Paspaley is the world's leading South Sea pearl company, growing the finest quality pearls in the world.

Behind the simplicity and singular beauty of Paspaley South Sea pearls is a journey that began more than 70 years ago on the remote and unspoiled coastline of northern Australia.

Paspaley's involvement in pearling dates back to 1935 when Nicholas Paspaley's father, Nicholas Paspaley Senior MBE, first collected mother-of-pearl shell in Australia's northern waters. He established a family business that has evolved to become the world's leading South Sea pearling company. Paspaley is still proudly family-owned and operated.

Paspaley nurtures its pearls on a remote network of over 20 farms, stretching more than 2500km across the pristine waters off the northwest coast of Australia - about the same distance as from London to Moscow.
