The Dubai Mall Guest Services Volunteers will support the strong on-the-ground Guest Services team of 200 plus staff and will be the social and informative hub for visitors to The Dubai Mall, acting as the first line for general enquiries.
The flagship development of Emaar Malls Group, The Dubai Mall is one of the world's largest shopping, lifestyle and entertainment destinations featuring a host of world-class leisure attractions. The Dubai Mall will open its doors to the public on October 30, 2008. The volunteers will play an instrumental role in welcoming customers and guiding them in navigating the mall, which sprawls over 5.9 million sq ft of internal floor area.
Mr Jim Badour, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Malls Group, said:
"The Dubai Mall will be a key leisure and retail attraction for the people and visitors of Dubai. The Guest Services Volunteer Programme is an ideal opportunity for non-working female residents in Dubai to act as 'ambassadors' and be part of the opening dynamic of this landmark endeavour. It also highlights our corporate social responsibility of meaningfully involving members of the community and supporting charity initiatives."
Mr Yousif Al Ali, General Manager, The Dubai Mall, added:
"We are looking for ladies who enjoy mixing with different nationalities and have a passion for shopping and socialising. With this initiative we hope to provide a platform for non-working females in Dubai to give back to the community while expanding their social networks. As part of The Dubai Mall family, the Guest Services Ambassadors will receive sneak previews of the mall prior to the opening day. They will also be the first in line for VIP tickets to high profile events and fashion shows that are scheduled to take place within the mall and furthermore they will be rewarded with The Dubai Mall shopping vouchers."
The Dubai Mall has a total area of 12.1 million sq ft, with an internal floor area of 5.9 million sq ft and a gross leasable space of 3.77 million sq ft. It will feature more than 1,200 stores and over 160 food & beverage outlets. Amongst its attractions are SEGA Republic, an exciting indoor theme park; the Olympic-size Dubai Ice Rink; the world's largest indoor Gold Souk; KidZania, a unique children's 'edu-tainment' concept; and a 22-screen Cineplex.
There are over 14,000 undercover car park spaces and the adjoining The Address, Dubai Mall luxury 5-star hotel with 250 rooms and 450 serviced apartments. The Dubai Mall expects an estimated 30 million visitors within the first year of trade.
