Gary Dorahy joins Muscat Private Hospital as the new Country Manager

Gary brings more than two decades of healthcare experience to Oman from his earlier stint in Australia. Managed by the UME group, Muscat Private Hospital's latest entrant has joined the group to lead the development of Oman's private health care sector.

Before coming to Oman, Gary worked in the public, private and not for profit healthcare sectors in Australia. He also managed large portfolios of private hospitals and has extensive experience in both the financial and general management aspects of health care delivery.

As the Country Manager for Oman, Gary is very excited about the potential for expansion of the private healthcare facilities and services in Muscat and Oman as a whole. He says, "We are spending a lot of energy developing our Emergency Room infrastructure to the point where we will be able to offer the people of Muscat a higher level of clinical treatment. We are at the final stages of Emergency Room Specialist doctor recruitment and there will be an official launch at an appropriate time."

He adds, "Orthopaedic Services are also very high on our agenda where we aim to create a Centre of Excellence to cater to the broad range of Orthopaedic injuries; from sports injuries to hip and knee replacements. We at Muscat Private Hospital are about to enter a new stage in our development."

The Hospital will offer a broad range of, recently developed, patient focused services to be launched including; Women's Health Services (with a particular emphasis on Gynaecology), Executive Health Screening (for both males and females) and Cardiac (Heart) Surgery Services. Plastic Surgery and General Surgery are also services that we will expand upon."

Backed by the commitment of the UME Group, MPH plans to expand the existing services in Muscat into other areas of Oman and cater to the people of Oman and their increasing private healthcare needs.

Muscat Private Hospital is Muscat's premier private medical facility. Strategically located in Baushar, the Hospital provides first-class out-patient and in-patient facilities and all the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of an acute care hospital, including CT and MRI. The CT scan is a 64 slice volume CT which has capability for CT Cardiac Angiography, CT Colonoscopy, Lung Imaging, and Neurological Imaging.
